The association of TÜV e. V. (VdTÜV) represents the interests of the Technical Inspection Associations ( TÜV ) in Germany with headquarters in Berlin and Brussels.

The TÜV Association represents the TÜV companies in Germany and companies that provide testing services as independent organizations.

The association prepares statements on EU directives , laws , ordinances , technical rules (e.g. VdTÜV information sheets ) and standards . He advises parliaments , ministries and public and private organizations at national and international level. Thanks to the exchange of experience that it organizes, the VdTÜV is an important point of contact for all questions relating to technical safety and environmental protection.

The association advocates technical progress and framework conditions in which innovation and cutting-edge technologies can be realized, sensible, socially acceptable and economic solutions in dealing with dangers of technology, safety and environmental protection through independent and neutral inspection, fair competitive conditions for the monitoring organizations on the European and international markets and relief for the state in the area of ​​technical monitoring.

The VdTÜV is a member of CITA (Comité International De l'Inspection Technique Automobile) and CIECA (Commission Internationale des Examens de Conduite Automobile).

Michael Fübi, CEO of TÜV Rheinland AG, has been chairman of the association since June 2018. The chairmanship changes every 2 years. On October 16, 2017, Joachim Bühler took over the position of managing director from Klaus Brüggemann, who is retiring. The managing director is also a member of the executive committee.
