The honorary title of Honored Worker in the Light, Food and Food Industry of the German Democratic Republic was a state award of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was awarded in the form of a medal. The title was donated on January 30, 1975. It was awarded for outstanding achievements in solving economic tasks in the light, food and nutrition industry. Appearance

The gilded medal with a diameter of 30 mm shows a circle on its obverse , each half consisting of a wreath of ears (left) and a wreath of cogs on the right, which surrounds a stylized factory with smoking chimneys. The reverse of the medal shows the small state coat of arms of the GDR and the inscription underneath: MERIT WORKER / THE LIGHT, FOOD / FOOD / INDUSTRY OF THE GDR .

Carrying method

The medal was worn on the upper left side of the chest on a 25 × 14 mm pink ribbon. Two vertical green strips 3 mm wide are woven into it, 3 mm from the hem.
