It was initially founded in 1880 as the Association of Berlin Insurance Officers. In 1882 the area of ​​activity was extended to all of Germany.

According to the Statistical Yearbook of the City of Berlin, revenues in 1895 were around 18,000 Reichsmarks.

The association published a newsletter, the announcements of the Association of German Insurance Officials in Berlin and maintained an asset management office as a stock corporation .

In 1919 the association had 1,345 members.

In 1913, the asset management office of the Association of German Insurance Officials Aktiengesellschaft was founded in Berlin . The founders were the following gentlemen: Director Franz Müller, Berlin-Lichterfelde; Director Johannes Richter, Berlin-Steglitz; Leopold Richter, Berlin; Insurance officer Richard Strauss, Berlin-Friedenau and Hermann Kleinert, Berlin. The seat was Waterloo-Ufer 19.

The purpose was to manage the assets of the Association of German Insurance Officials in Berlin and to undertake all loan and other credit transactions that are somehow connected with it, above all taking out loans and accepting savings and granting loans to the members of the association.
