Association of German Livestock Insurance Companies

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Association of German Cattle Insurance Companies was a German insurance association founded on April 9, 1904. Nine mutual insurance associations immediately joined the association . It was not until 1911 that the first joint stock company for this insurance branch was founded and joined the association.

The motivation for founding the association was to overcome a split in the economic sector, because while some members levied premiums that required an additional contribution from the insured in the event of damage, at the same time other premiums demanded which were so high that an additional contribution was generally not necessary. Since the association allowed both bonus systems, the companies were able to concentrate on exchanging experiences and joint lobbying.

Together with other insurance associations, the association is one of the founding associations of the Reich Association of Private Insurance .
