Reich Association of Private Insurance

The Reichsverband der Privatversicherung , based in Berlin , represented the interests of private German insurance companies .

history

The association was at the origin on 24 January 1911 as the Association of Private Insurance established. The merger of the previous seven professional associations was prepared by Carl Ritter von Rasp , who then acted as first chairman. It initially united the employers 'association and the professional associations of the German insurance industry. In 1913, the organization was renamed the Central Association of Private Insurance to avoid possible confusion, and in 1919, after separating from the employers' association, it was renamed the Reich Association of Private Insurance .

The association was the central association on the side of private insurance and is considered the forerunner of the General Association of the German Insurance Industry (GDV). He was responsible for the processing of common economic, social and financial policy matters of the private insurance system and questions common to insurance branches.
