Christian Oertel

Christian Oertel (born May 9, 1884 in Rothenfelde ; † 1945 ) was a German general director.

After graduating from the Vegesack secondary school, Oertel studied law at the University of Göttingen . He passed the state examination at the Higher Regional Court of Celle and was in Göttingen for Dr. jur. PhD. He later switched to the insurance industry.

Among other things, Oertel was general director of Colonia insurance in Cologne (Kölnische Feuer- und Unfallversicherungs AG), the Schlesische Feuerversicherungs-Gesellschaft in Breslau , the Schlesisch-Kölnische Lebensversicherungsbank A.-G. in Berlin and the Silesia Allgemeine Versicherungs-A.-G. in Cologne.

During the Nazi era , he headed the Reich Association of Private Insurance and the Private Insurance Business Group from 1934 (until 1936) .
