The Verlag Versicherungswirtschaft GmbH ( VVW for short , also VVW Karlsruhe ) is a specialist publisher for insurance literature based in Karlsruhe . Magazines, books and electronic media are published.

In addition to books and educational literature , the publisher also publishes the specialist journals Versicherungswirtschaft , Versicherungsrecht and VALUE. The advisory magazine , insurance medicine and the actuary .

The managing director until the end of 2015 was the lawyer Wolfgang Knippenberg. The industrial engineer Dirk Solte (formerly Ulm Research Institute for Application-Oriented Knowledge Processing , FAW) has been running the publishing house since the beginning of 2016 .

history

The Versicherungswirtschaft publishing house was founded in 1946 by Alex Möller (1903–1985), who was CEO of Karlsruhe Life Insurance from 1945 and later became Federal Minister of Finance .

On June 1, 1946, Alexander Möller founded the insurance industry magazine . In 1950 the magazine Versicherungsrecht was published for the first time and in 1976 the magazine Versicherungsmedizin followed . In 1995 the CD-ROM Insurance Law was published for the first time. In 1988, the construction of the cross-industry online database Assdata for the insurance industry began, which in 1997 was again included in the range of the Verlag Versicherungswirtschaft. In 2005 the magazine Versicherungsvertrieb was published for the first time ( 2015 relaunch of VALUE. The consultant magazine ) . The daily report vw-heute.de appeared for the first time in 2013 .
