The insurance industry (abbreviated VW ) is a monthly (until 2013 bi-monthly) published German specialist magazine for insurance .

The magazine is published by Verlag Versicherungswirtschaft in Karlsruhe. The editor-in-chief from May 1, 2012 to April 2016 was Heinz Klaus Mertes , and in May 2016 the publisher's managing director, Dirk Solte, took over the editorial management. The insurance industry is a member of the international news ring Presse Internationale des Assurances .

The magazine was founded on June 1, 1946 by Alex Möller (1903–1985), who was CEO of Karlsruher Lebensversicherung AG from 1945 and later became Federal Minister of Finance .
