Association of Berlin merchants and industrialists

The club house of the Berlin merchants and industrialists was a building in Berlin-Charlottenburg . It was the seat of the Association of Berlin Merchants and Industrialists .

The building was on Fasanenstrasse in the Berlin district of Charlottenburg. It was built in 1954 according to plans by the architect Paul Schwebes and was located directly next to the IHK building with the stock exchange, which was still under construction at the time . Compared to the other buildings planned by Schwebes, it was a relatively small property. The building had two floors and a basement. There were administration and meeting rooms on the ground floor, a ballroom for 350 people on the upper floor and the Berliner Keller restaurant on the lower floor .

The building was simple, only the central zones of the walls were windowed. The resulting large wall surfaces were clad with shell limestone . The entrance was on the narrow side of the building facing Fasanenstrasse and was protected by a curved canopy.

The existing monument protection for the building was lifted in 1993 and the building was demolished. This is where the Ludwig-Erhard-Haus is located today, where the Association of Berlin Merchants and Industrialists is also based.
