Paul Schwebes (* 19th April 1902 in Stargard in Pomerania ; † 10. March 1978 in Berlin ) was a German architect of postwar modernism with an outstanding regional importance for the Berlin architecture after the Second World War .

Life

Paul Schwebes began his studies in 1922. According to the artist database, he is said to have studied in Vienna and Darmstadt , according to the Berlin District Lexicon in Berlin. In 1927 he completed his studies with a degree in engineering . In the same year he became an employee in the architecture office of Bruno Paul .

In 1933, he set out with its own architectural practice independently . At the end of the 1930s he moved to Berlin. In the 1940s he shared an office with the architect Rudolf Ulbrich . During the reconstruction of Berlin in the 1950s and 1960s, Schwebes was one of the busiest architects in the city and worked in a joint office with Hans Schoszberger .
