Verona (potato)
Verona is an early ripening and predominantly waxy potato variety .
Verona shows particular resistance to Rhizoctonia , black-leggedness as well as iron and black spots . It is resistant to the pathotypes Ro 1, 4 of the yellow potato cyst nematodes ( Globodera rostochiensis ) and to the potato cancer pathotype 1.
It grows very quickly, and the oval tubers with a light yellow flesh color quickly become firm. The yield is average to above average , depending on the location and harvest year .
