Veronica Bilbao La Vieja

Veronica Bilbao La Vieja (actually Veronica Perugini ; born August 22, 1963 in Rome ) is an Italian film director , screenwriter and film producer .

Life

Perugini grew up in Udine and after finishing school moved to Venice, where she studied at the Università Ca 'Foscari at the Faculty of Literature and Philosophy. She also visited Ermanno Olmi's “Scuola Ipotesa” . After starting out as an assistant director in 1990, she made her debut with her first work Il teppista in 1994. Four years later, she founded the company “Caro Film” with Giancarlo Sartoretto , with which she co-produced the works of others in 2001 in addition to her own film; including films by Francesco Suriano , Abel Ferrara and Jean Sarto . In 2004 she started the “Neche” project, which deals with the distribution of independent films via the Internet and runs the first Internet film festival.
