Packing group

The term packaging group ( VG or VPG ) means a classification of substances and objects as dangerous goods under transport law :

  • Packing group I: Substances with high risk
  • Packing group II: Substances with medium risk
  • Packing group III: substances with low risk

With the packaging group certain requirements are applied to the packaging of dangerous products defined (X-encoded Y-coded, Z-coded).
