Vertex (insect)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In insects, the vertex (Latin for "vertex") describes the vertex region or face of the head capsule behind the eyes and to the side of the frons (forehead). Behind the vertex lies the occiput (back of the head). In some insects, the vertex can be bisected by a median ridge.
