Vertical Velocity in Six Flags Great America ( Gurnee , Illinois ) is a steel roller coaster model Impulse Coaster Twist & Spike from the manufacturer Intamin , which opened on May 18, 2001 as V2 .

The layout is like a big U . In the station, the train is accelerated by linear motors from 0 to 113 km / h onto the first, vertical and twisted tower. When reversing, the train is accelerated again in the station and moves up the second tower, which is also vertical but not twisted. There are some brakes on this tower so that the train is held in the vertical position for a few seconds before it goes back to the station. The train thus shuttles back and forth between the two towers several times during a journey.

Trains

Vertical Velocity owns a train with seven cars. Two people (in a row) can be seated in each carriage. The passengers must be at least 1.37 m tall to be allowed to ride. Shoulder straps are used as a restraint system.
