Impulse Coaster is the name of a steel roller coaster model from the manufacturer Intamin , which was first delivered in 1998 and belongs to the Inverted Coaster , Launched Coaster and Shuttle Coaster category . It exists in three variants: Spike & Spike , Twist & Spike and Twist & Twist .

The track has an acceleration section and two 90 ° steep towers, which are either both even, both rotated ( twisted may be) straight or twisted as well as both. The first delivery, Linear Gale in Tokyo Dome City , is the only system that has two straight towers. A special feature of Flash: Vertical Velocity in Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is: The system variant Twist & Spike originally had a straight and a twisted tower. However, due to the city's height restriction of 150  feet , the railway was rebuilt in early 2002. The straight tower was shortened in height and the twisted tower was tilted 45 °. Because of this, the twisted tower now has an inversion .

Journey sequence

The train is accelerated out of the station by means of a LIM drive and moves up the first tower. The maximum height is not yet reached and the train rolls down the tower again. In the station, the train is accelerated further backwards and goes up the second tower. This time a greater height is reached. When the train has rolled back down this tower, it is accelerated further in the station and now reaches the maximum height on the first tower. When reversing, the train is accelerated again in order to reach the maximum height on the second tower. The train goes up the first tower again, but is then braked when reversing and comes to a stop at the station.

Trains

The Impulse Coaster have individual trains with six to seven cars each. Four people (two rows of two people) can be seated in each car.
