Wicked Twister in Cedar Point ( Sandusky , Ohio , USA ) is a steel roller coaster of the Impulse Coaster Twist & Twist type manufactured by Intamin , which opened on May 5, 2002.
To date, it is the only roller coaster of the type in which both towers are vertical and twisted . It is also the tallest and fastest roller coaster of its type.
journey
The train is accelerated from the station to the first tower using LIMs . In doing so, however, it does not reach the maximum height. After departure, the train reverses through the station where it is accelerated to the other tower. In doing so he reaches a greater height. Now the train drives through the station forwards again, accelerating again. The whole process happens several times until it reaches the maximum height. After the journey, the train in the station is gently braked by the LIMs.
Trains
Wicked Twister owns a train with eight cars. Four people (two rows of two people) can be seated in each car. This enables a maximum capacity of 1000 people per hour. Shoulder straps are used as a restraint system.
