Disaster Transport in Cedar Point ( Sandusky , Ohio , USA ) was a steel roller coaster model Swiss Bob from the manufacturer Intamin , which opened on May 11, 1985 as the Avalanche Run . On July 29, 2012, the facility closed and demolition began to make way for the GateKeeper roller coaster , which opened in May 2013.
From 1985 to 1989 she drove outdoors as the Avalanche Run . A building was built around it between the 1989 and 1990 seasons so that it - renamed Disaster Transport - drove in the dark.
