Administrative archive

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An administrative archive is maintained by authorities, companies and institutions for the temporary storage of official documents that are no longer required for the fulfillment of tasks. The tasks, structure and organization of the administrative archives differed according to the importance and position of the respective registrar. For example, the documents of several registrars can be concentrated in one administration archive. Such facilities are also referred to as central administration archives.

The archivists at the administrative archives have to do the following work in particular:

  • Securing and transferring official documents from the file-keeping offices or the registrar,
  • Evaluation and cassation of the accepted documents,
  • Handing over the archive material to the responsible final archive ,
  • Cassation of written material that is not to be kept permanently,
  • Informing the registrar about the work carried out.
