History and construction
The Victa R2 was a four-seat monoplane designed by Luigi Pellarini . The prototype first flew on February 15, 1961. In April of the same year, Victa decided to discontinue development in favor of the Airtourer , as it turned out that the production costs would have become too high. The R2 was a four-seater braced all-metal low wing aircraft with a T-tail unit and retractable nose wheel landing gear. The machine was powered by a Lycoming O-360 piston engine with 135 kW.
