Jiří Teml
Jiří Teml (born June 24, 1935 in Vimperk ) is a Czech composer.
Life
Teml first attended the commercial academy and worked as an economist. In the 1960s and 1970s he took private lessons in music theory and composition with Bohumil Dušek and Jiři Jaroch . He was awarded a third prize at the Prague Spring for the Fantasia appassionata for organ . From 1976 to 1980 he was music dramaturge and head of the music department at the Czechoslovak Radio in Pilsen, from 1980 music dramaturge at Radio Prague. Teml composed a. a. three symphonies, concerti grossi and instrumental concerts, chamber music and works for solo instruments, choral works, including several for children's choir, and two children's operas ( The emperor's new clothes after Hans Christian Andersen and Puss in Boots , librettist for both: Jan Tůma ).
