Fourteen emergency workers in Gaid

The pilgrimage chapel to the fourteen helpers in need in Gaid in the municipality of Eppan was built in 1634/38 at the instigation of Eustachius von Zinnenberg, who came from Gaid. On the site there was an early medieval predecessor building erected before the year 1000.

The ship, which can only hold about 30 believers, has a ridge vault on consoles and a triangular choir closure. The elaborately designed door is framed with natural stones.

The chapel, designed on the outside by a ridge turret , has a baroque high altar with an altarpiece that depicts the donor as St. Eustachius among the fourteen helpers in need. The predella picture also shows the three wives and numerous children of the founder. Also preserved are two oil paintings of the scourged Christ from 1644 and Mary with Child from 1626, as well as votive tablets, 14 stations, statues of saints and the artistically designed entrance door.

The chapel is adorned with four wooden statues from the beginning of the 18th century depicting St. Joseph , St. John Nepomuk , St. Franz Xavier and St. Leonhard . They also have six votive tablets, four of which date from the second half of the 17th century and are among the oldest in South Tyrol.

A picture of the Virgin Mary by Paul Honegger can be seen.

The chapel is a listed building and, together with the forecourt and the neighboring Moarhof, is also under ensemble protection .
