Viktoriahaus (Berlin)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Viktoriahaus in Berlin-Friedrichshain was a nursing building erected in 1885 on the initiative and with funds of Crown Princess Victoria . It was located at Landsberger Allee 19-20 on the corner of Matthiasstrasse, opposite the Friedrichshain Hospital . The nurses here were called Victoria Sisters and were trained in hospital service, especially for poor and large families.

The five-story brick-style house with a few decorative turrets was so badly damaged during World War II that it could not be rebuilt.
