Villa Cavallotti is a public park in Marsala , Sicily . The park covers an area of ​​about 350 × 40 meters and extends in a northeast-southwest direction on the edge of the ancient city wall to the excavation zone (Centro Storico) Parco archeologico Lilibeo .

history

The park was created in 1895 at the will of the city administration, which demolished the old fortifications of the Bastion San Francesco at this point, filled in the old moat and created a public green area. The park dedicated to Felice Cavallotti (1842–1898) has been open to the public since 1902 . Felice Cavallotti, Garibaldi, journalist, poet and founder of the left-wing extremist party Partito Radicale Italiano in Italy, who tragically died shortly before. The plans for the parks are entirely in the style of the 19th century and come from Giuseppe Grosso .

The name became common since the fall of fascism in 1943, after it was renamed Villa Crispil in 1932 .
