The Villa Neander in Binz on Rügen is a listed building with an elaborately designed porch in the Art Nouveau style of the turn of the century.

A dendrological peculiarity in this region is the approx. 6 meter high Araucaria , which stands directly on the terrace in front of Villa Neander and was planted there in the 1970s.

history

The original Villa Neander was built in 1903 by Mrs. Paulina Neander as a logistic house. Through the expropriation of the owners' house was given after the Second World War in the hands of the municipality and the GDR - public property transferred. At this time, the spa architecture in Binz had also produced its most beautiful buildings. In 1994 the ailing building was acquired by the Glasner family and, after extensive renovation and reconstruction, opened as a hotel with restaurant in 1997.
