Vinodol Codex

The Vinodol Codex (Croatian Vinodolski zakonik ) is a treaty from 1288 between the princes of Krk and representatives of the region in the Croatian coastal region . It is the oldest surviving legal code of its kind from Croatia. The contract was negotiated in Novi Vinodolski by a total of 42 representatives.

It is preserved in a manuscript in Glagolitic script from the 16th century. This is now in the National and University Library in Zagreb . In 1933 a German translation by Mark Kostrenčić was published.
