The Virginy Islands (Russian: Острова Виргины ; Finnish: Viirit ; Swedish / German: Wier ) constitute a group of two small islands in the Gulf of Finland (Russian: Южный Виргин and Северный Виргин ; Finnish: Lansiviri and Idaviri ). They are located in Kingissepp Rajon in the Russian Oblast of Leningrad, around 12 km southwest of the island of Gogland . The area of the islands is 0.04 km². On the northern of the two islands there is a 13 m high lighthouse. There is a stone labyrinth on the southern of the two islands . The islands belonged to Finland until 1944 .
