Vocalconsort Berlin

The Vocalconsort Berlin was founded in 2003. The choir is an association of freelance professional singers. Depending on the requirements, the choir appears in different numbers and compositions, a capella, with small instrumental accompaniment, but also with large orchestras.

The choir was invited to the Berlin venues (Philharmonie, Konzerthaus, Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Komische Oper, Radialsystem V) as well as to concert halls abroad. The vocal consort was represented at music festivals in Europe, but also had appearances in North and South America, Asia and Australia.

The Vocal Consort does not have a chief conductor, but works on projects with different conductors, especially regularly with artistic partners such as Daniel Reuss, Marcus Creed , Barrie Kosky , David Cavelius, Folkert Uhde and Sasha Waltz .

Awards

In 2008 the Vocalconsort Berlin received the “German Record Critics' Award” for the CD “Hugo Distler”.

The Vocalconsort Berlin was awarded the ECHO Klassik 2013 for the recording of Gesualdo's second book “Sacrae Cantiones” under James Wood .
