Johann Raitz von Frentz von und zu Schlenderhan (* before 1600 ; † 1640 ) was provost in Liège and canon in Münster and Speyer .

Life

As the son of Johann Raitz von Frentz (* 1526) and his wife Margarethe von Siegenhoven called von Amstel (* 1530), Johann Raitz von Frentz came from the noble family Raitz von Frentz , which is one of the oldest families of lay judges and knights in the imperial city of Cologne . The family was raised to the status of imperial baron in 1650 and enfeoffed on October 25, 1652 by Elector Maximilian Heinrich with Odenkirchen and the associated office of hereditary castle count of the Archbishopric of Cologne . Not very much is known about Johann's vita. He was Chancellor of Duke Johann Wilhelm and Palatinate-Neuburgian Privy Council . From 1617 to 1635 he held the position of canon in Munster and abandoned here in favor of his cousin Johann Ebertin Raitz von Frentz . In that year he became provost of the cathedral in Liège and also canon in Speyer . In his will of July 30, 1640, he established the creation of a family foundation.
