Volkmar Stuber

Volkmar Stuber (* 1970 or 1971) is a German musher .

The sled dog driver and former chemistry student Stuber, who comes from Gaildorf in Baden-Württemberg, has won several national and international titles with his Alaskan Huskies. Starting in the three-dog class, he became German champion for the first time in 1989 at the age of 17. By 1993 he got four more victories at national championships. In 1990, the European championship in Bad Mitterndorf, Austria, was followed by the first international title, after having finished second there the year before. In 1992 he repeated his European Championship triumph in Jämi Järvi, Finland . In the same year he also became world champion in the four-dog class. In 1995 he also won the European Championship in Serre Chevalier in the 6-dog class . A year later he became vice world champion in this division in Lake Placid, Canada . This was followed by many more podium placements in national and international competitions, most of which he subsequently competed in the 8-dog class. For example, he decided the Vindelälvsdraget relay race in 1998 and the German championship in 2000 in his favor.
