The Serre Chevalier is a 2,491 meter high mountain in the Pelvoux mountain group in the Hautes-Alpes department in the French region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur with a ski area of the same name. The area is part of the Écrins National Park .
In 2002 the first world championship in ski mountaineering took place here.
