People's Party (Finland, 1917)

The People's Party (Finnish: Kansanpuolue ) was a party in Finland that existed from 1917 to 1918.

The party was founded in the summer of 1917 by former members of the Finnish Party and the Young Finnish Party , among others , and had a peasant profile. In October 1917 she took part in an electoral alliance with the Finnish and Young Finnish parties in the parliamentary elections and entered the Finnish state parliament with five members. In December 1918 the party disbanded and the three MPs Taavetti Heimonen , Erkki Pullinen and Kaarlo Vuokoski joined the faction of the liberal National Progressive Party . The other two MPs Jussi Puumala and August Tanttu joined the monarchical National Collection Party .
