Moritz Regula

Moritz Regula (born January 10, 1888 in Graz ; † October 3, 1977 there ) was an Austrian Romance studies and linguist .

Life

Regula received her doctorate in Graz in 1911 with the work Les fables de Phèdre comparées avec les imitations de La Fontaine. Etudes relative à la critique des fables de La Fontaine (2 vols., Hohenelbe 1913-1914, 70 + 78 pp.) And was a high school teacher in Hohenelbe until 1920 (three years of military service). From 1920 to 1945 he taught at the German Realgymnasium in Brno . Then he went back to Graz , taught at the middle school there and became a lecturer, later professor, at the University of Graz.

Regula has published books on French, Italian and German and numerous articles in magazines such as the Zeitschrift für Romance Philologie and Zeitschrift für French language and literature . It has been translated into Japanese.

Regula was the recipient of the Silver Medal of Honor of the Republic of Austria and the Cross of Honor for Science and Art, First Class .
