Tonga Census

A census in Tonga takes place in the South Pacific island state of Tonga on the instructions of the responsible minister , usually every five years. Since independence censuses were carried out in 1956, 1966, 1976, 1986, 1996, 2006 and 2011 by the Tonga Department of Statistics. This is supported by the Secretariat of the Pacific Community . It is based on the Statistics Act of 1988.

Results

The largest village is Kolomotu'a on Tongatapu with 7442 inhabitants .
