Full gantry luffing crane in the Magdeburg trading port

The full gantry luffing crane in Magdeburg is a listed harbor crane in the commercial harbor , which is located east of the harbor basin on Werner-Heisenberg-Straße .

The full gantry luffing crane , manufactured in 1956 by Kranbau Eberswalde as a welded steel construction, has a lifting capacity of ten tons. It replaced older stationary cranes. Movement along the harbor basin was possible on rails laid parallel to the harbor basin. The rails of the port railway ran underneath the crane , so that transhipment between ships and railroad was possible.

The crane is considered to be the last surviving example of crane and handling technology from the 1950s in Magdeburg.
