Two-ply (engl. Two-ply or 2-ply ) or a double twisting (two-ply) is a term of textile manufacture and means that before the weaving both the warp and for the weft yarns fine yarn two or more yarns twisted together / twisted, twisted . This originally standard method of manufacture, especially for men's shirts, is now seen as an additional manufacturing expense. For economic as well as technical reasons, for example the feasibility of certain surface structures, manufacturers are now preferring cheaper designs, such as half-ply, in which only the warp consists of twisted threads.

Nowadays, fully twisted fabrics are used particularly in high-quality shirts or blouses , but also in fine bed linen. It is particularly suitable for smooth, dense fabrics. The durability and dimensional stability of these fabrics are particularly good. This production makes patterns in the fabric appear particularly clear and colors more brilliant.

Full-twist fabrics are said to have a higher durability and a higher number of possible washing cycles.
