The Voortrekkers is a Christian youth and culture association active in South Africa and Namibia , which was founded in 1931 as an alternative to the (English-speaking) Boy Scouts . They got their name after the name of the Boer pioneers Voortrekker . The organization defines its three cornerstones with its “ABC”: Cape of Africa, Cape of Burgers, Cape of Christians , that is, Afrikaans , bourgeoisie and Christianity.
