Pre-load

As Vorstelllast the load is called, engaged in rack railways before the train is because beyond a certain slope safety reasons the traction unit on the valley side must be located. If this means that no trailer load can be transported uphill , the load must be placed in front of the motor vehicle. The pre-set load is therefore the mass that a traction vehicle can transport in addition to its own mass on the specified gradient. It is usually given in tons.
