Heat output (heating technology)
Under heat output is defined as the in energy conversion processes resulting share of power , which is available as heat. The heat output corresponds to the combustion heat output minus the losses due to incomplete combustion , residual heat in the flue gas and the heat losses from the heat generator .
The term is most often used for heating systems.
The heat output is given in kW, MW or GW. Older units of measurement are the heat units (WE) and kcal / h (1000 kcal / h = 1.163 kW).
