Thermal Protection Ordinance

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The regulation on energy-saving thermal insulation in buildings (heat insulation ordinance - WärmeschutzV) first appeared on 1 November 1977 as a result of 1976 by the Bundestag adopted Energy Conservation Act (EnEG) came into force. Against the background of rising energy prices, their objective was to reduce energy consumption through structural measures.

The Thermal Insulation Ordinance was amended twice. On January 1, 1984 the 2nd Thermal Insulation Ordinance and on January 1, 1995 the 3rd Thermal Insulation Ordinance came into force.

On February 1, 2002, it was replaced by the Energy Saving Ordinance (EnEV), which combines the Thermal Protection Ordinance and the Heating Systems Ordinance (HeizAnlV) into one set of rules.
