Watershed Organization Trust (WOTR) is a worldwide organization with the aim of creating water catchment areas and developing ecosystems. The main area of ​​application is India .

The aim is to ensure food, water, livelihood and income security for a growing quality of life for disadvantaged people and disadvantaged communities on a sustainable and equitable basis.

"Watershed" project

The Watershed project helps the locals to react to climate change on their own and to cope with the consequences of large-scale deforestation and desertification. Sustainable agriculture and integrated water management are intended to secure the lives of millions of people.

Awards

In 2017 the United Nations received the Land for Life Award , Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). The Land for Life Award recognizes outstanding achievements and innovations by individuals or organizations who have made outstanding contributions to the realization of goal 15 “Life on Land” of sustainable development. WOTR has received a total of 17 awards for its work so far.
