Web Services Distributed Management (WSDM) is a web service standard for monitoring the status of other services. WSDM, part of the WS- * specifications, aims to make the various proprietary management solutions of existing systems also platform-independent in line with the idea of ​​a service-oriented architecture and thus to homogenize their use.

Sub-specifications

  • Management Using Web Services (MUWS): MUWS describes how management interfaces of resources can be provided as web services. This includes some basic management functions such as a resource description, metrics and description options for the capabilities of this management service. In addition, MUWS defines a format for events in order to improve interoperability .
  • Management Of Web Services (MOWS): MOWS defines how web services can be managed as resources and how they can be accessed with the help of MUWS. It contains mechanisms and methods that enable management-capable web services to be used across the boundaries of companies and organizations.

WSDM 1.0 was recognized as the OASIS standard on March 9, 2005 . The WSDM 1.1 specification was approved on September 7, 2006.
