WWWOFFLE (Abbreviation for World Wide Web Offline Explorer ) is free server software for the Linux and BSD operating systems . It is used as a proxy and can also be used as a cache . WWWOFFLE can handle HTTP , FTP and fingers .

WWWOFFLE was particularly valued by owners of expensive Internet connections, as it can collect web requests and process them at a later point in time. This reduces the time one has to be connected to the internet to surf.

WWWOFFLE is free software under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL).

The Internet Junkbuster partially served as a model for WWWOFFLE. It itself served as a model for Polipo , which was written out of dissatisfaction about the inadequacies of WWWOFFLE.
