The Guard Dzong is a Dzong in Bjena GEWOG in District Wangdue Phodrang , Bhutan . The dzong was built in the 13th century by the descendants of Sangdag Garton , the son of Phajo Drugum Zhigpo .

The dzong is considered a sacred building as many great Buddhist masters, including Kuenkhen Longchen Rabjam , Youndzin Ngai Wangchuk, and Lama Drukpa Kuenly , are said to have visited it.

Restoration work on the dzong began in 2011, and the consecration took place on January 7, 2015 by His Holiness Je Khenpo .
