Wangdue Phodrang ( དབང་ འདུས་ ཕོ་བྲང་ རྫོང་ ཁག་ ; in dzong skad: dbang dus pho brang ; formerly: Wangdi Phodrang) is one of the 20 districts ( dzongkhag ) of Bhutan . About 34,974 people (2011) live in this district on an area of 4308 km².
The capital of the district is the eponymous Wangdue Phodrang .
