Phangyuel ( Dzongkha : ཕངས་ ཡུལ་ ) is one of fifteen Gewogs (blocks) of the Dzongkhag Wangdue Phodrang in central Bhutan . Phangyuel Gewog is in turn divided into five Chiwogs (constituencies). According to the census of 2005, 1127 people live in this weight in an area of ​​33 km² in 236 households. The Dzongkhag Administration names on its website a population of 1975 people who live in 210 households in new villages, while the Election Commission only lists seven villages or hamlets.

Phangyuel Gewog is 63% covered with forest. Rice, wheat, oranges and various vegetables are grown. In addition, livestock farming is used to produce milk, cheese and butter.

In addition to the Gewog administration, state institutions have two medical advice centers ( Outreach Clinic ) and an office for the development of renewable natural resources ( RNR, Renewable Natural Resource center ). The educational institutions in the Gewog include a primary school with around 90 students.

Culturally significant monuments are a Buddhist temple, Phangyuel Lhakhang and two monasteries, Chundu Goenpa and Dagay Goenpa .
