Coat of arms of the von Haxthausen

The wagon braid (wagon basket) is a common figure in heraldry and a rare heraldic figure . It is probably only found in the coat of arms of the von Haxthausen family . The coat of arms shows an inclined silver wagon braid in red. On the helmet with red and silver helmet covers an open flight, each covered with the shield figure . In the compiled coat of arms of Welda , a district of Warburg , the coat of arms figure of those of Haxthausen is in the upper left field as a reference to an old enfeoffment of the place. The wagon weave was woven from willow rods and these walls (panels) were used to secure loads against falling or to prevent contamination during transport.
