Wahlsche schnapps pear

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Wahlsche brandy pear is mainly in southern Germany -based autochthonous pear variety .

description

It is of medium strong, broad pyramidal growth. The fruits are medium-sized and spherical to bluntly conical and, when ripe, light yellow in color.

use

The variety is generally not suitable for consumption, but it is well suited for fruit brandies . Larger cultivation areas are, for example, in the Palatinate and Swabia .

Studies have shown that the Wahlsche pear contains significantly more aromatic components than the Williams pear . Connoisseurs also describe a cider pear brandy as rounder and more balanced, but also more complex. This could be due to the slower growth and the higher concentration of the must.
