The Waki-Biki ( Japanese 脇 引 or 腋 引 ) also Waki-Date are part of the Japanese samurai armor ( Yoroi ).
description
The Waki-Biki are pieces of armor that are used to protect the armpits . They are usually square or rectangular in shape and U-shaped in the upper area. It is attached to the breastplate with the help of silk cords. The waki-biki are usually made of steel. The armor can be plate , chain or scale armor . The individual parts of the panels are movably connected to one another with silk cords . Another version, also known as waki-biki , is a type of jacket or vest that is also equipped with the various types of armor and is worn under the breastplate ( Do ). A third version is a plate that is attached to the opening side of the breastplate to make it more difficult for the enemy to open the armor.
