Waldhof (Hütting)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Waldhof is an abandoned farm that belonged to Hütting in the Wellheimer Trockenental ( Altmühltal Nature Park ).

location

The farm was halfway between the forester's house Giglberg (north of Hütting in the Wellheimer dry valley) and Gammersfeld north of the connecting forest road.

history

Erected in the middle of the forest in 1800, the farm was bought by Count Aloys von Arco-Stepperg in 1852 and was soon abandoned. In 1864 there were still buildings. After that, the farm fell into disrepair and its fields were reforested. Around 1980 the brick-built courtyard well over 6 meters deep was still there.

Nearby is the so-called Zigeunerloch , a rock face with large fallen and mossy stone blocks of the Malm .
